Elevate feet: Helps reduce swelling and discomfort
3. Prevent Dehydration (Critical!)
Offer small sips every 5–10 minutes—even if they refuse meals
Try electrolyte solutions (Pedialyte, coconut water, or diluted apple juice)
Use a medicine syringe if they won’t drink from a cup
💧 Hydration success sign: At least one wet diaper or pee every 6–8 hours.
🦠 How Contagious Is It? Keep These Rules
Highly contagious during the first week (even before rash appears!)
Keep home from daycare/school until:
Fever is gone AND
Blisters have dried up (usually 7–10 days)
Prevent spread:
Wash hands thoroughly after diaper changes
Disinfect toys, doorknobs, and surfaces with bleach solution
